Another death of member

1 year ago By Mike CUBITT

It is with regret we report the death of Rod Baker. The funeral is Friday 23 June at G'send Crematorium, Chalk at 1.00 and after at the Club from 2.00

Rod passed away on Monday evening after a long struggle with ill health over many years. Rod who was born in 1942 was an Hon.Life Member of the Club and had held office as President, Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer and was instrumental in achieving CASC status for us some years ago.
Rod who ran the line for the 1st Xv for many years had been a member for as long as we can remember, so over 50 years and during that time whilst working for APCM had tours of duty in Nigeria, where he met his wife Rosalyn, and Egypt.
Rod's love of food was renown and he enjoyed many a club lunch and especially the 1st XV Home Game Saturday buffets. A true 'clubman' and one to be remembered, our immediate thoughts and condolences are with Rosalyn his wife for 25 years and his close and extended family.
