George Baker funeral arrangements

1 year ago By Mike CUBITT

Following last week's announcement, we now have the funeral details for the late George Baker.

George who was a regular in the Gravesend 1st XV from 1948 - 1958 passed away peacefully in his sleep at midnight on Wednesday 20 July will have a service at Medway Crematorium on Tuesday 9 August at 11.15.
This will be followed by a wake at GRFC club premises from around 12.30.
George who had been a member at Gravesend for close on 70 years, an active member of both the rugby and bowls sections during this time. It was he that instigated the highly successful Captain's Day Lunch that normally attracts well over a hundred members every year.
Hard to believe but George was a weak boy and had it not been for Great Ormond Street Hospital he may not have made it through his early years. He was a regular
supporter of the Charity and in lieu of flowers, or just in memory of George, the family would like to invite friends to support this worthy cause. Go to:
