I had a call from James his youngest son this morning to say that Mick passed away peacefully last night, (17/12/2017)
As you will know Mick has suffered from diabetes for many years and had ben subjected to ten operations over the last fifteen years or so and in the words of James this morning "he had had enough".
Mick and Pat were our stewards for many years in the '90's and '00's and were faithful employees in those times, introducing a more modern approach to our multi-sports club with cabaret shows, trips to the races and many other forms of entertainment and along with their family became quite a fixture in the club. Sadly Pat succumbed to illness some years ago and Mick was already suffering from his diabetes so it became necessary for him to resign his post as steward with us.
Mick continued to visit us whenever he could and his sense of humour and wit will always be remembered.
Details of the funeral arrangements will be posted as and when known
