Captain Harrington was determined that everyone realised the importance of this game and from the moment the warm up began it was clear that Gs meant business. A large crowd, including both 1st and 2nd team representatives, gathered at the side of the pitch for what was destined to be a fiercely contested match.
Thanet’s huge pack decided our game plan - run! From Gravesend 3 45 V 12 Thanet 4
the first whistle Gs pacey, adventurous backs were supported by a pack that refused to be bullied. After going 3 tries up after some spectacular running rugby, Gs were under the cosh for the last part of the 1st half but defended with determination- conceding only one try in this period.
The second half was a different tale with flowing moves from wing to wing, with some cracking offloads put a tiring Thanet side to the sword. Outstanding performances from Coats, Luck, Saward and Delay.
Gs move towards the Christmas break with only one game remaining and I hope that the blend of youth and experience can continue to flourish.
