Three tight games but youngsters come out on top.....

With Swindon St George pulling out of the fixture at the last moment, Gravesend Dynamite made use of the booked hall and Tina McKee's bacon rolls to roll in some internal matches of their own.

Dynamite under 14's continued to make a name for them self and remain the only unbeaten youth team in the whole of the UK (Gravesend are still Kent youth team cup holders and have never been beaten by any other team across the country) after a win and a draw against two Dynamite teams, both with some senior players amongst them.

The under 14's, captained by Ben Hope beat Dynamite Linden Blacks (Jack Linden, Cormac Maloney, Oliver Atkinson, Rich Carver and Arron Carver) 18-14 in close game. Tries for R Carver, Linden ( plus one conversion) & Maloney were not quite enough with Huckle (3) & M Owen going over for the U14's with Huckle converting once.
the Linden Blacks then came back to beat the Hope whites (Nevil Hope (c), R Cubitt, Lee Barnes, Josh Barnes and Megan Atkinson 26-20. Tries for R Carver, Linden ( plus 2 conversions) , O Atkinson & Maloney (converted) just edging out tries for L Barnes, N Hope and J Barnes 2 (plus 2 converted) in an entertaining game.
In the final match of the session, youth team coach Tom MCCarthy really got his under 14's charged up and they secured the draw they needed with some superb defensive play from both teams resulting in an unusual 0-0 draw.
Congratulations to the under 14's: Ben Hope (c), Max Owen, Matt Atkinson, Patrick Murray and Euan Huckle.
Murray and R Carver were voted players of the tournament but some quality development from all players within the club bodes well for the future.
