Your favourite social rugby team do what they have to do in a typically feisty game against them from the other side of the gate.

And so ultimately it was a totally one sided blowout with the Gannets running in a hatful of converted tries against their next door neighbours.
I am,of course talking complete bollocks as the Gannets don't do blowouts. They do just enough to get the job done and no more.
A purple patch spanning the half time break saw them justifiably take a 17-0 lead but then it was business as usual as they took their foot off the gas and gave their oppenents a sniff of getting back into the game.
It was the Old boys, playing down the banana, that made the early running with a series of kicks downfield to frustrate their hosts.Several times the Gannets worked their way back up the hill only to lose the ball and have it returned over their heads with interest.
Neither line out was functioning particularly well in the ridiculously strong wind and the Gees turned to Martin Taylor in order to turn their fortunes round in this department.
Comedy/dick of the day moment duly arrived when the Gees actually secured their own throw on their 5 and with Martin 'Yewtree' Riley at 9,was of course going to secure the ball and drive on but no,he attempted a kick that would've made Ian Shuttlewood blush which was gratefully gathered up by the visitors.
With that little faux-pas out of the way the Gannets finally got their arses in gear and was an Old boys scrum which led to their opening score.
Driving them off the ball firstly Connor Watkins attempted to snipe his way over the line before Mike Percival took matters into his own hands and along with a strong supporting cast, bundled over the line for a try which Connor expertly slotted.
Keen to avoid last weeks start of second half debacle, the Gannets were immediately on the attack and a rare attacking run from the Predator, looking resplendant in his brand new scrum cap found Yewtree who crashed over to score.
This was followed up after the restart with a trademark burst from Percy who offloaded to Sargey who outpaced the visitors defence to score in the corner. And he did score, clearly although the Old boys 10 wasn't of that opinion and voiced it by promptly quitting the game.
So with most teams you'd expect a flurry of tries to follow but this is the Gannets and the imaginary scoreboard was troubled no further.
Partly because they decided to step back and admire their handywork whilst giving away a boatload of penalties and partly because the Old Gees were forced into moving arguably their most talented player, their 13 into 10 and things began to happen for them.
Only a last last ditch Jake Welsh tackle stopped the OGs 8 scoring from a tap penalty after his dad missed the initial tackle. That probably wasn't the case but it makes a good story.
So 17-0 it finished and it's another clean sheet for the divisions best defence. No mean feat, especially in a local derby against a fired up opponent.
Final word has to go to MOM Connor Watkins whos clever kicking, strong tackling and overall calmness under pressure left the Gannets wondering who it was that played 10 last week..and that ginger dude?
No it's gone.
Until next time.....
