Gravesend wheelchair rugby's younger members took on the seniors and were eventually taught a lesson!
The game started well for the more experienced players who soon went 2 tries up (8-0) after a well worked try down the left with new signing Charlie Bigsby (who impressed throughout) touching down and Sue Fletcher, who gets better and better each week soon getting a 2nd try after a superb interchange between Bigsby and captain, Liam Hammock.
However, the youngsters battled hard and got a well worked try back through Ben Hope who is developing his speed even further. Max Owen who is continually looking for gaps in lines of defence and often finding them soon got a 2nd try back to make it 8-8 after good passing from Oliver Atkinson and William Ansell.
Ruth Cubitt made a break for it on the half way line and was gaining good momentum but Henry Bowler came back to rescue his side and tackle 2 metres out. However, tries for both sides after half time brought the score to 12-12. Hope sent the youngsters in to excitement when a cracking pass from Patrick Murray after good work from Mathew Atkinson enabled Ben Hope to again break free only 'tackled' by Ide just before the line but the ref saw foul play from the seniors and a penalty try was awarded to put the youngsters up 16-12. The scores soon returned to 16-16 before Ben Ide touched down to win it 20-16 for the senior side.
