........and gets a try for the Dynamite!

England international Joe Coyd played his first competitive wheelchair rugby league game since the World Cup finals in July, guesting for GRFC Gravesend Dynamite. Joe who also plays 13 a side rugby league for London Broncos clearly showed his skill and speed in the chair, motivating our keen players to continue to improve. England and Medway Dragons coach Mark Roughsedge, back with the Dynamite for his 2nd coaching session was very impressed with the progress suggesting that the team has moved even further forward and grown at a very rapid pace since forming in September 2013.

I would have to agree as, even though we were playing 6 a side instead of the standard 5 a side, we were still treated to 12 try scores: George gaining 3, Elliot (player of the match in session 1) 2 and Tom McCarthy, outstanding on the left wing, also getting 2. Sue Fletcher, player of the match in session 2 got herself a try as did debutant Ian Long plus England international Joe Coyd!

Other players who stood out this evening were Cormac who showed much better speed in the chair and linked up well with Coyd, Ben Ide who tackled Joe Coyd well, Milly who continues to make tackle after tackle, Joe McCarthy who ran Sue close for the player of the match award and Seb Groves who quickly reduced space for the attacking side.
With Matthew, Patrick, Liam, Henry, Ben H and Oliver also all putting on a good display it was a great all round performance.

I don't think this will be the last time a couple of our players will be playing competitive wheelchair rugby league against an international player!
