Tom Mc hands out a lesson with conversions

It was try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try and more tries on Wednesday as we had our highest scoring game ever. These tries were added to by Tom Mc who is almost perfect with the conversions.

So, how does a conversion work in wheelchair rugby???? The 'kicking' tee is raised up off the ground and the ball is punted using the fist towards the posts - quite a skill but Tom Mc certainly seems to know how to do it (though just like Jonny Wilkinson used to, Tom is often in for extra practice).

As for the tries, have a look at the match statistics to see who got them as I only have so many characters to type here......let's just say there were a lot of tries this week in a very attacking game.

Jason Bowler brought his rugby experience in to the chair; and his sons enjoyed crashing in to him.

Charles Murray moved out from a central position where tackling is key (and he's good at that) to the wing in the latter stages of the game and showed remarkable speed as he advanced metres down the pitch. Cormac also continues to improve increasing U18 competition for places.

Special mention to Jack L who made his debut and not only showed tremendous skills in the chair but managed a record 3 tries on his debut. He'll be a real asset to the under 18 squad in our forthcoming fixtures in May and July.
