Normal Service Resumed?

A good squad of boys turned up at Medway on a sunny yet blustery cold morning saw Medway saying we were playing over on the Kings School sports field. only to find that no lines had been marked.
Never mind, tactical use of cones did the job and as the pitch was in good nick all involved agreed to play. Absentees included Josh Smythe, Jacob O'Neil (finger) and old safe hands Joseph Betty (shoulder)

A scrappy start by Gravesend saw the ball being taken in by Medway with good forward play rucking over to secure. Ollie made good work of loose ball running from his own 22 but was put out line out Medway. This was won by Gravesend only to be knocked for a scrum gravesend.

The forwards set a good platform securing their own scrum and then having to help clear up not the best play from 9 to 10 Connor as ever Mr reliable stole the ball from Medway which set up Gravesend going forward. People going forward, Ben M, Nathan all forwards and backs helping to ruck over and secure ball this saw nathan seemingly again take on the entire set of forwards then twisting his body to off load to Tye try 7 mins in 5 nil converted by Tye 7 nil Gravesend.

Straight from the restart Mayhem catches the ball (OMG) then powers forward offloading to Ben C straighten up we cried nope says Ben who draws Medway right then left then forward then offloads to none other than Tye who puts the ball down in the far left corner unconverted 12 nil G's.

Medway switched the kick which went desperately long going behind our own try line "dot it down Ollie we cried!!!! nope Ollie said as he decided to kick n chase taken in by Medway and charged straight back so nearly in for a try but Zak saved the day rucking the ball out and literally having to rn from his own try line to be told Gs had won a penalty as Medway were trying to play the ball on the floor.

A quick tap from Tye made a great break but turned over by medway, Gs trying to play on the floor scrum medway won against the head by Gravesend. a series of good forward play saw Nathan, Ben M and Sam all powering forward with great support from Luke but Medway was tenacious as ever stealing the ball back and off loading for their big number 8 to charge back only to be put down by his opposite number. This saw Ben C running back to knock the ball on in the tackle scrum down Medway

substitutes Coady for Sam and Espen for Luke.

A series of knock ons by both teams saw scrum after scrum but G's still going forward. Again Connor making a nuisance of himself and Ollie working his socks off at 15 putting in cover tackles and making runs to bring his side back in the game. G's were turned over time and again. The referee made some dubious decisions and Medways number 8 making some cracking runs only to be turned over. Zak again making a good rip and run kicking the ball on straight out half time g's 12 nil.

G's started sloppy with the forwards at first looking asleep with Medway's number 8 again running hard but a good tackle by Espen saw the ball pop out kicked on by Ned, ripped by Zak who made the run passed to Tye under the sticks which he then converted score 19 nil. Restart great catch n take by Coady rucked over by G's powering through only to be run back again by the big number 8. Another back n forward play saw Nathan strong running at space and offloading again to Tye under the sticks again which he converts score 26 nil.

Another restart caught by Scott boom straight into the forwards. Great off loads sees Tye run all the way back at Medway looking to offload to Ben D only for a tip tackle this time seen by the referee!!!!
A quick tap n go saw Zak shrug off 2 tackles to run under the sticks converted by Tye score 33 nil.

Medways loss was compounded by their kicking which saw them having to scrum in their own half both teams attacked and defended well zak kicking for touch, ollie running it back, Connor ripping but Medway time n again running the ball back with their 7 n 8 working really hard to no avail. Ben M made a blistering run only to be out of puff and made. This saw literally the last play of the game with a Gravesend scrum won and eventually passed to Zak which he dotted down in the corner not converted by Tye final score 38 nil.

A different team to last week really hard to pick a man of the match but Connor for his usual pestering play picking, driving stealing and Tye for all his hard work around the park, tackling making plays and scoreline of 28 solo points.
