Ultimately, the boys hung on and put another converted try past Westcombe in the dying minutes to secure an 11 point victory, but a second week of apparent capitulation from a healthy lead had us all wondering if we were on Groundhog Day.
That said, a solid all round team performance, with no "stand out" stars, not because nobody particularly shone, more because they all did. Fundamentally, our better tackling and place kicking success rates secured the game. Their coaches half time talk consisted of a quick reminder to the boys as follows....."lads, I have just double checked with the referee and he has confirmed that rugby is a contact sport and he is prepared to allow tackles.....so how about making a few".
As much as it pains me to do, I should add congratulations to Tye on reaching 200 points from his 15 games this season with 22 tries and 45 conversions from 62 attempts (72.6%). Me being me, I can't give a pat on the back without a kick up the bum, so Tye, let's see you run straighter, pass tighter and kick from hand only if running isn't an option at all.
