When the British Lions took to the park on Saturday they found that the expectations were greater than their performance.
Ex Gravesend 1st XV lock, Keepa Mewett was in the staring lineout for the New Zealand Barbarians when the faced the British Lions in the first game of the Summer tour.
Keepa, who played for Gravesend's Kent Cup winning 1st XV during the 2010/2011 season, before moving north to Fylde then going back to New Zealand where he is enjoying a great rugby career.
Between fifty and sixty members attended the club to watch this first tour game, with all the usual breakfast rolls available with coffee and tea.
