Having been a member of the old Imperial Paper Mills social club and Pidgeon section when GRFC moved in to save the club in the early 1980's when the mill was forced to close, Joyce was the long time secretary of the section and regular member of the full club committee, serving for a number of years.

Funeral arrangements have been made for Thursday 19 July, at 11.15 at Chalk Church, moving to Thames View Crematorium at 12.00 before going back to the rugby club to toast the memory of a dear mother, and member of GRFC Pidgeon's.
