Early exchanges saw Gravesend's indiscipline cost them easy points on the board and continued throughout the game.

Despite a good period of early pressure, G'ss found they were behind to a try scored by the visitors tight-head prop Chris O'Malley which was successfully converted by Alex Smith for 0-7.
An accumulation of offences saw lock Dan Wood take a ten minute break for a yellow card, and this proved costly for Old Colfe's as during this one man short they let G'ss in for two tries, neither of which was converted as the breeze held up the kick from the tee.
With the half coming to an end, G'ss Ziggy Stevens was sent to the bin for killing the ball. When the whistle was blown the score stood at 10-7 at the break.
Still down to fourteen players G'ss struck first with a well taken penalty from the boot of Rhys Betts, then the continued pressure paid off when the ever sharp Aaron Raynor raced around the defence to touch down a very well worked try. Betts added the extras to make the difference 20-7.
The hard working forwards, superb in the line-out and steadfast at the set piece, continued to ensure a good supply of ball, for the home backs to take forward.
It was only the strong defending by the visitors that prevented the score-line from growing, then with G'ss inside the opposition twenty-two metres, then when "handbags" were thrown as the play broke down, G'ss Gary Brett and Colfe's Oladipo Ariyo were ordered to take a ten minute break in the sin bin for their "girlie" exchanges.
Another Betts' penalty lifted the score to 23-7, and the home supporters were calling for the fourth try and a bonus point. It was not until well inside the last five minutes that the score was to come.
With the home forwards driving hard, and the ball being recycled through a number of phases, it was the darling of the home crowd, Charlie Cutting, who raced in and around before touching down for Betts to add the conversion for a well earned 30-7 home win.
