Mayhem Jr scores 2 and takes the MOM award as the Gannets stifle New Ash Green.

Firstly credit has to go to New Ash Green for getting the game on in the first place.Down to 11 players midweek,a bit of help from their 1's and a couple of lads playing their first ever game of rugby, they had a healthy looking squad going into today's encounter.

The Gannets weren't looking too shabby themselves, apart from Sam Holden, obvs and even Ian Shuttlewood arriving a minute before kickoff couldn't disrupt their ahem, gameplan.Shutts reason for being late? Rather than use satnav he thought he'd rely on his memory instead and got lost.Anyway he was put on the naughty step with Matt Clarke for the first half as the versatile (so the rumour goes) Dan Grant stepped in at 10.With Welshy,Welshy and the Welshman unavailable it was down to Walshy to step in at fullback.

The Gannets as you would expect after two reasonably close games previously, left nothing to chance and were on the attack from the opening whistle although the conditions played their part with a few handling errors early on.It took some 10 minutes or so before a penalty was awarded on the 5 and with a tap and a dive,he scored.

The next 20 minutes or so really wasn't anything to write home about unless you're into tales of endless penalties for high tackles, offsides and chirping the ref both from the pitch and the sideline. It took a moment of...well I don't know really for the Gannets to increase the lead as New Ash Green attempted to clear their lines from inside their 5,Ben Mayhew caught the ball full force in the bread basket, somehow kept hold of it and crashed over for the score.Maybe all those years of teaching his old man to catch paid off after all.

He was back at it straight from the restart as a fine move along the touchline saw the ball move via several players, including Lloydy I believe before play was stopped for a NAG infraction.Again the tap was quickly taken and Mayhem Jr slalomed through to score for a 17-0 lead at the half.

Now the beginning of the second is where it all went tits last week and The Gees made sure not make the same mistake again.A Ben Baker penalty,a Danny O try and even Dan Grant got in on the act, taking time out from sitting people down like a theatre usher by actually taking the ball and running in a straight line and scoring although the slightly camp high step did him no favours.

Young Harry Richardson was having a stormer out on the wing, throwing his 10 stone soaking wet frame a men twice his size and bringing them down whilst on the other wing,Lloydys kit was a level of freshness that Sam Holden can only dream of.

With the scrums having gone uncontested and only a minute or so left a dump tackle on Luke Titmuss saw a penalty awarded almost in front of the posts but some way out.Only one man could kick this and kick it he did. This man therefore deserves to have the last word in this cluster of a match report.

That mans name is
