Ash Vets 34 Moles 19

Another glorious day for rugby was overshadowed by the lowest turnout for a Moles fixture ever. A mere 14 Moles made the journey deep into Kent to take on Ash Vets.

Gathering behind the posts twice during the early exchanges, the Moley's could be forgiven for believing that today was going to be a day well and truly to forget. Nonetheless, the Moley spirit is strong in this hard core of men and thanks to grit, determination, a Povey special and an awesome 'Mole of the Match' performance from loan player Glynn (two tries, two conversions) the Moles battled
hard all afternoon to post a very respectable score against a well-organised team of 'proper' vets.

Despite the result, their was an air of satisfaction around the Moles' changing room after the match as the port was passed around and naturally, a few pints were enjoyed in the cozy Ash club house before the trip back to Gravesend.

14 blokes, including 5 in their 50's, certainly demonstrated today that the Moles is something much much more than a just rugby team!
