Ice to see you, to see you nice!

The performance of the U10's Eagles & Falcons was epitomised by a collective team spirit and a desire to play for each other.

A comprehensive victory over a good Medway team saw some excellent team play which allowed the Eagles to dominate possession and score 5 super tries. Led well from the front by Molly, Gravesend just about maintained parity in the scrums, but excellent tackling, work at the breakdown and passing created the space to allow Josh B (2), Josh S, William A and Andreas to score some tremendous tries. Equally as pleasing was the performances of Jack, Thomas and Wisdom, for their tackling, awareness of space and line out throwing. Indeed, all of the players contributed significantly and should be very proud of their efforts.
Likewise, the Falcons won by a 2 try to 1 score, going ahead in the first half through excellent determination, strength and persistence from Matthew. An early reply from Medway after the break set up an exciting finish. Oscar, Lucas and Max M were excellent in the scrum, getting low and driving forward enabling our backs to have lots of ball. It was from one of these scrums that Fin MM managed to burst throught two tackles and go over in the left corner. Ben also stood out for good running and an ability to read the game well.

So a good performance by both teams giving GRFC an overall 7 try to 1 (35-5) victory. Moreover, the pre-match training sessions involving Medway and GRFC coaches covering fitness, passing, looping and protecting the ball were well received by the players. Hot dogs supplied by Neil in the clubhouse were certainly enjoyed!
