Thunder Rolls & Lightning strikes twice @ Blackheath

Sunday the 9th of November saw Gravesend taken on a magical mystery tour of Blackheath sporting facilities before eventually ending up on the heath where we were pitted against the might of Blackheath & Old Dartfordians.....

Today Gravesend played 2 astonishing matches at Blackheath! We trained with 2 teams (Blackheath and Dartfordians) and practiced our skills before going to our teams. After the training the matches began, the first match we played was against Blackheath. On that game we played fabulous AND WON 6:0! We played good by tackling hard, always there for the ruck and snatching that ball. After our first match we had to pay our respects to those that died in the war by doing a 2 minutes silence. When the 2 minutes were over we got on with our second match. On our second match against Dartfordians we used our line out really well and managed to push them back working well as a team, the score being 3:1.

I thought that the mixed training at the beginning was very good today at Blackheath because it was good talking to the other teams and getting to know them also it was fun and quick, it helped us to learn more about rucking over as well. .Our 1st game was against Dartford and the score was 1-1. It was a thrilling game and some of the players were speedy ,some were strong. We worked well as a team. Our 2nd game was against Blackheath they were a hard team but in the end it was 3-3 ,half of the team were very difficult to tackle some of them shot off like a mouse .. We could have done better with our rucking on this match because some people were standing there instead of helping us. But still we all did well and enjoyed the day!!!
