On a glorious day for rugby the U9s ventured out of town to Vigo RFC to participate in the Kent U9s Festival.
As per the norm, it was raining and muddy. Special mention goes out to Mr B for bringing the Gazebo for its first outing.
There are already plans for slight modification (by Kaz and Michael ) to keep stuff off the floor.
We were able to travel with 24 players, the only club able to field 3 Teams, GRFC Black, White & Green. Each playing 4 x 12min games.
There was some outstanding rugby played.
On the attack side - strong straight running, passing out wide and excellent communication saw all teams score some wonderful tries.
On defence there were some great hard tackles and strong focus. There were a few try savers made down in the corners, however, a special mention for tackle of Day the has to go to Hennerz in the game vs Dartford Valley.
The newer members of the squad, Robo,Waggers, Ryan, Munch, Fazer, Chloe and Hennerz acquitted themselves really well considering it was their first festival.
Cold, wet, muddy and tired players gathered under the posts, a few chocolates (for Jacob's Birthday) and a nice shiny medal soon put a smiles on all faces.
No scores were kept and as alway grassroots rugby was the winner.
As always thank you to Parents, Siblings and Grandparents for the continued support.
